Here are a few helpful tips to make sure your time at Tampa International Airport is smooth sailing:
Departure
- Check the airport website for any construction disruptions, extended security lines, or reduced shuttle operations.

We suggest arriving at the airport when the check-in counter opens for your flight.
- Our check-in counter is located in the Main Terminal.

Our check-in counter opens 2 hours before departure for domestic flights and 3 hours before departure for non-stop international flights. Airport Team Members are available during this time to check bags and support Guests' questions.

Checked bags must be checked in no later than 45 minutes before departure for domestic flights and 60 minutes before departure for non-stop international flights. This is when our counter closes.

If you don't have any bags to check, head straight to the security checkpoint.

Your gate number can be found on your boarding pass and airport displays.

Be at the gate ready to board no later than 30 minutes before departure for domestic flights and 45 minutes before departure for non-stop international flights.

You'll be using a jet bridge to board the plane.
Arrival
Transportation
- Short- and long-term garage and parking lot options are available within walking distance of the terminal. Economy parking links to the Main Terminal via the SkyConnect train.
- The Rental Car Center is accessible outside the terminal via the SkyConnect train.
- Bus services via HART and PSTA are available at the Rental Car Center.
- Hotel shuttles are available at all four Ground Transportation quad lots.
- Rideshare is available outside both Red and Blue Baggage Claim.
- Taxis are available on the Baggage Claim Level of Red 1 and Blue 2 Ground Transportation Areas.
Ticket Purchases
Tickets are unavailable for purchase at the check-in counters except on Tuesdays between 11:00 am – 1:00 pm ET.
