Let the sound of waves crashing wash out the worries of daily life. Help your kids build the towering sandcastle you’ve always dreamed of. Cool off in refreshing ocean waters. Or take your excursion a step further by learning to surf, renting a kayak, going parasailing, or fishing from the shore. If you’re traveling with a large group we recommend these beaches:

  • Coronado Beach, San Diego, California
  • Clearwater Beach, Tampa, Florida
  • Venice Beach, Los Angeles, California
  • Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
  • Sanibel Island, Fort Myers, Florida
  • Newport Beach, Orange County, California
  • Coco Beach, near Orlando, Florida

If you’re looking for a more secluded experience or something off the beaten path, try one of these spots:

  • The Outer Banks, near Norfolk, Virginia and New Bern, North Carolina
  • Perdido Key, Sarasota, Florida
  • Tybee Island, Savannah, Georgia
  • Folly Beach, Charleston, South Carolina
  • Biloxi Beach, Gulfport, Mississippi
  • Siesta Key Beach, Pensacola, Florida
  • Wrightsville Beach, Wilmington, North Carolina

Get Outdoors

Looking to go outside and explore the great outdoors? Consider one of these attractions you can fly straight to with Breeze. Why not visit the Mountain Biking Capital of the World? Bentonville, Arkansas, near the Ozark National Forest, has the perfect rugged environment with dirt trails through woods suited for a variety of skill levels. Looking for a good place to go hiking? Explore the staggering craggy canyons of Colorado National Monument near Grand Junction and Utah’s Big 5 National Parks near Provo.

Catch a plane to Phoenix, Arizona where you’ll be just hours away from the red rocks of Sedona, the endless valleys of the Grand Canyon, several national forests, and the renowned hiking outside of Lake Powell. Cruise over to San Francisco, California and cross the great Golden Gate Bridge to get to Muir Woods National Monument. Enjoy miles of trail through towering redwood trees here. Head back east and experience the Riverwalk in Tampa, Florida. Lounge across a network of parks along the Hillsborough River contrasted by the Tampa skyline.

Zion National Park

Need something a bit more thrilling? Check out the Louisville Mega Cavern in Kentucky complete with zip-lining and guided tours through a massive cave. Head south to New Orleans, Louisiana, home to the Bayou. Tour the swampy wetlands via boat or boardwalk. If you’d like a wilder experience exploring beaches, consider one of California or Florida’s state parks including Torrey Pines in San Diego, Crystal Cove in Orange County, or Lovers Key in Fort Myers.

Shop Until You Drop

Where there’s warm weather and people having fun, there’s fantastic shopping to find. Piece together the perfect outfit, finesse an undiscovered antique, or pick up a souvenir that brings back memories of your trip long after it ends. Make sure to also pick out a new restaurant or bar to try each time you go out and support local businesses.

You can easily get to New York City via a short train ride from our Islip/Long Island, Westchester County, or Newark destinations. Here you can peruse the luxury stores along Fifth Avenue or the hidden boutiques of SoHo. Other shopping spots we love include Bourbon and Frenchmen Streets in New Orleans and Ybor City in Tampa.

Several of our beach destinations also feature great boardwalk-style shopping. Try out one of our top picks:

  • Santa Monica Pier near Los Angeles
  • Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach
  • Seaport Village and Mission Beach Boardwalk in San Diego
  • Siesta Key Village in Sarasota
  • Pier 39 in San Francisco

Take an Educational Excursion

Calling all history buffs, animal lovers, and science enthusiasts. If you love to learn, these next activities are for you. Our top recommendations for educational experiences are also great for children! If you find yourself in Charleston, South Carolina, take a ferry out to Fort Sumter. Built on a small island in the middle of the harbor in the 1800s, this military installation heard the first shots of the American Civil War.

Washington, D.C. is perhaps the most accessible place to learn about the history of America and beyond. With countless free museums and monuments to explore, visitors will never run out of things to do. Check out the National Mall where you can tour the United States Capitol, Natural History Museum, Washington Monument, White House, and Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, to name a few.

If you think Las Vegas only features nightlife for adults, think again. Several resorts along The Strip include fun activities for kids. One great place to visit is the Mandalay Bay Aquarium. Here you can view more than 2,000 marine animals, sea turtles, and sharks and walk through a 360-degree undersea tunnel. It’s like you are really swimming with the fish.

Heading back to the East Coast, travel to the Kennedy Space Center outside of Orlando. This attraction boasts a collection of rockets used in actual space missions, interactions with real-life astronauts, a simulated International Space Station experience, and the chance to see rockets launch into space in person. The center is built on Cape Canaveral along the beautiful Atlantic coast of Florida.

The San Diego Zoo is another excellent spot to take the whole family. The zoo is consistently one of the top-rated in the nation. Here you will enjoy the company of over 14,000 animals from more than 700 species. A little way up the coast in Orange County, take a whale-watching tour. Take a boat out into the Pacific Ocean where a guide will help you spot the majestic mammals of the deep.

Go Sightseeing

Your spring break plan won’t be complete without seeing some iconic sights wherever you decide to travel. Bust out your camera and selfie stick for our next list of spring break staples:

  • Enjoy the iconic architecture of historic mansions, and cultural buildings, some that were built in the Colonial Era, in Hartford and Providence.
  • Check out the colorful houses of Rainbow Row and the scenic vistas of Waterfront Park in Charleston, South Carolina.
  • Spot celebrities, take the star walk, and hike to the famous sign in Hollywood.
  • Feel like you’re in several states and countries all at once on the Las Vegas Strip.
  • Learn about NASCAR’s biggest race held each year at Daytona International Speedway with a trip to the coastal Florida town.
  • Visit the site of the Kentucky Derby, Churchill Downs in Louisville.
  • Walk the path of the American Revolution along the Freedom Trail in Boston, a short bus ride from Manchester.
  • Scope the spots of your favorite movie scenes from Central Park, the Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Building, and the Statue of Liberty in New York City.
  • Take a step back in time while perusing the French Quarter in New Orleans.
  • View the sites and sounds of Phoenix from a mile high in the sky in a hot air balloon.
  • Traverse the streets of San Francisco via the retro cable car system and make your way to see the Golden Gate Bridge.

Discover Entertainment

Our destinations offer a plethora of options for those looking to catch some fun in the sun or on the stage. Don’t miss Major League Baseball spring training camps and games held in the warm respites of the South/Southwest. Fort Myers and Phoenix are both great places to participate in the preseason for America’s pastime.

The Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas is great for almost anything you can dream up. Choose to game at the casinos, soak in one of the massive resort pools, or attend a show featuring anything from music to magic to acrobatics to celebrity holograms. Speaking of shows, nothing compares to New York City’s Broadway for musical theater. See a long-running classic, or catch the latest hit, the options are endless on Broadway.

Perhaps a theme park is more your speed. Spend your day on intense thrill rides, taking pictures with your favorite movie characters, and scoping out the best corn dog or churro stand as you peruse one of the country’s ultimate playgrounds. Our recommendation for the best theme park cities includes Orlando and Sarasota, Florida and Orange County, California.

Another more adult option is the Bourbon Trail in Louisville. Build an itinerary out of the 46 distilleries across Kentucky. Try some of the world’s best whiskey brewed and aged onsite for the freshest possible experience.

One other great choice for entertainment is to visit one of our top golfing destinations. Myrtle Beach, Orlando, and Sarasota are all packed with courses and are host to beautiful tropical weather to play in. If your handicap isn’t great but you still want to get in on the action, minigolf is also popular in these locations.

Use this guide to inspire your spring break planning. Then book your flight with Breeze. Before you know it, you’ll be ready to relax and bask in the sun on your next travel adventure.
