West Coast DestinationsÂ
Our cross-country routes include numerous cities on both the East and West Coasts of the United States. Western destinations include San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino, San Diego, Phoenix, Provo, and Las Vegas. The many attractions in western cities are sure to make your cross-country travel worth it.

San Francisco, otherwise known as the Golden City for the gold found there in 1949, features many beautiful sites from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Presidio. Ride a cable car with your friends or visit Alcatraz Island and see what it was like to be trapped on an island prison in the Bay. Round out your trip with a visit to Ghirardelli Square for a brownie sundae and to Pier 39 for some shopping and dining on the water. Look for the wild sea lion colony and the aquarium at the pier.Â
Places to see in the Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Bernardino area includes the L.A. Conservatory, Hollywood Sign, Grammy Museum, Hollywood Walk of Fame, beaches, theme parks, historic Route 66, and the San Bernardino History and Railroad Museum. Look out for celebrities, feel the wind in your hair as you drive the Pacific Coast Highway, and discover wilderness retreats to nearby national forests and state parks. Stop by the Santa Monica Pier and ride the Ferris wheel as the sun sets over the ocean.Â
For things to do in San Diego, then look no further. The city is full of fun with beaches, casinos, attractions, amusement parks, museums, and so much more. Enjoy a nice coastal hike or take a ferry to Coronado and enjoy a relaxing day at the beach. Stop by the San Diego Zoo, one of the most renowned in the country, and feed your wild side with animal encounters. Also look for marine life up near the rocky shoreline of La Jolla Cove.  Â
You may think of Phoenix as the heart of the hot desert, but you’ll find plenty of respite from the heat in its mountains and indoors at its many cultural locations. Get up above the city for fabulous views at Camelback Mountain, peruse the diverse foliage of the Desert Botanical Garden, or uncover the subtle beauty of cacti and sage in Saguaro National Park. Tour Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright’s winter home, immerse yourself in the melodic arts at the Musical Instrument Museum, and discover Native American artifacts at the Heard Museum.Â
Provo is a renowned spot for nature lovers. Head up the Provo Canyon to see the dazzling Bridal Veil Falls, fish or tube in the river, and hike through the green foliage. Ride the slopes at Sundance Mountain Resort in the winter or use the lift to mountain bike in the summertime. Visit the sprawling college towns of Brigham Young and Utah Valley University. Climb craggy peaks in Rock Canyon Park. Drive the Alpine Loop in the fall to see gorgeous aspen trees with their yellow leaves. You’ll also be nearby Utah’s “Big 5” national parks, Arches, Canyonlands, Zion, Bryce, and Capitol Reef.

Catch a show, sing along with an iconic artist, laugh with your favorite comedian, or cry as you watch a new hit drama. Check out one of the city’s famous attractions including the Bellagio fountain, the Mandalay Bay aquarium, and recreations of Venice, New York, Rome, and Paris. Watch a professional sporting event or attend a festival. From its spectacular restaurants to endless entertainment, Las Vegas is sure to have something for everyone.
East Coast DestinationsÂ
Our transcontinental flights to the eastern US feature even more destinations and fun including Providence, Hartford, Norfolk, Raleigh-Durham, Richmond, Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, Fort Myers, Charleston, and Washington, D.C. Each city has a unique feeling so be sure to take the time to visit them all. Â
If you are looking to take a transcontinental flight to the northeast, make sure to stop in Providence. You will want to attend their signature WaterFire event with a spectacular show along the river. There are also public art museums and award-winning theaters to explore. Check out Roger Williams Park, featuring one of the oldest zoos in the nation, along with a planetarium, a Japanese garden, and a botanical center. Discover history and iconic architecture at places like College Hill and the Athenaeum. Â
Another great northeastern city to visit is Hartford. Hartford attractions include the Bushnell Plaza Sculpture Garden, Lincoln Financial Sculpture Walk, Art Walk at the Library, Joseloff Gallery, Cricket Hall of Fame, and the Connecticut Science Center. Enjoy a stroll down the Connecticut River and visit the many green spaces along the trail. You can also learn about the famous author Sam Clemens, better known as Mark Twain, at his family home and museum. While there, also check out the nature centers surrounding the city including Talcott Mountain State Park and Wadsworth Falls.Â
Trips to the southeast include flights to Raleigh-Durham, Richmond, Norfolk, Charleston, and Washington, D.C. Raleigh-Durham is known as the research triangle and is full of fascinating adventures. Explore one of the world’s oldest amusement parks at Pullen Park and ride a carousel from 1911, a mini train, and pedal boats. Other things to do in Raleigh-Durham include the North Carolina Museum of Art, Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve, the Mountains-to-Sea hiking trail, and the Marbles Kids Museum. Â

Norfolk is full of activities on the water including sports, cruises, tours, and delicious seafood to enjoy. Richmond brings art to life at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Carytown, Virginia Museum of History and Culture, and the nearby theme parks. Norfolk also has one of the closest airports to favorite family beach spots including Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks. Enjoy some fun in the sun, cruise along Chesapeake Bay, and discover important time periods of America, including the Revolution and the Civil War.Â
Charleston is known as the city of churches and features over 400 from various denominations. The skyline is scattered with steeples and features a row of colorful houses by the shoreline known as Rainbow Row. Other attractions to visit include The Battery, Fort Sumter, Charleston City Market, boat and walking tours, and Charleston Park. Catch some rays at Folly Beach as you lounge by the cool ocean waters. You’ll also find several marshy wildlife refuges near Morris Island and Isle of Palms that make for a fun day trip.Â
Get lost in the bustling metropolis of Washington, D.C. Filled with exquisite restaurants, local boutiques, and swanky shopping, you’ll find plenty of entertainment in this large city. Ride the subway or walk to get around with ease. As the nation’s capital, D.C. has loads of free museums, monuments, memorials, and buildings to explore. The Smithsonian Institution is great for families and individuals looking to learn about American history, nature, aerospace progress, art from around the world, and more. The National Mall is filled with walkable tributes to veterans of various wars, presidents, and other important figures. Â
Florida features even more endless fun. Transcontinental flights to north Florida stop in Jacksonville. There you can view its amazing rivers and take a scenic boat tour, rent a kayak or paddleboard, and view wildlife. Make sure to also see Jacksonville Beach, the Riverside Arts Market, Kingsley Plantation, Big Talbot Island State Park, and Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary. Take in the stunning views of the skyline lit up at night behind the iconic Friendship Fountain at the park across St. John’s River.Â
If you choose to venture a little bit further south on your transcontinental flight you will find yourself in sunny Orlando. Orlando features thrilling theme parks, some of the best golfing in the world, beautiful beaches, and natural islands, lakes, and gardens. A must-see is the Kennedy Space Center out on Cape Canaveral, where you can watch real space shuttle launches. Also check out nearby Cocoa Beach, the perfect spot for a game of volleyball or a swim in the ocean.Â

You can also fly cross-country to Tampa. Attractions in this historic town include the Tampa Riverwalk, Ybor City, Tampa Bay History Center, Florida Aquarium, and Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. Zoom around the city on the iconic Teco Line streetcar that connects the culturally significant Latin Quarter with downtown. The highlight is visiting the pristine white sands and calm waters Clearwater and St. Petersburg. Discover a good mix of city life and beach adventure off the Gulf.Â
Finally, if you are looking for some more sun head on down to Fort Myers. Fort Myers is full of fun things to do including visiting the winter homes of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford at the Edison and Ford Winter Estates. Explore nature trails, wildlife exhibits, and a planetarium at the Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium, or catch an MLB spring training game at the spring training home of the Boston Red Sox. You’ll find the best beaches on Sanibel and Marco Islands and around Naples.Â
